Bezposredni bus ze stone town: BUS 326

There's a good tarmac road that leads from Stone Town to Paje. The trip there by minibus takes just over an hour and costs around US$10. Bus No 9 from the Creek Road in Stone Town serves Paje and continues to Jambiani and Bwejuu. Bus No 10 from Creek Road goes to Kizimkazi via Jambiani and Makunduchi.


Kizimkazi is 53 km South from Stone Town and slightly further from the airport. The 326 daladala runs to Kizimkazi from Stone Town. This method of travel makes for a very long and uncomfortable journey. Alternatively your hotel can arrange a transfer for around USD 60 or one can take a taxi or hire a car.

Kizimkazi is a beautiful traditional fishing village found on the south coast of the island. It is around a 70km drive from Stone Town, you can make this trip within the hour in private transport and on a local bus it will take you around an hour and a half. The local bus is still surprisingly cheap for this one way trip it will cost you 1,500tsh (£0.60, $1).

The main 'Bus Station' is on Creek Road just beside the Darajani Market on the edge of Stone Town. They tend to leave once an impossible number of people have been squeezed into, and often onto, these overworked vehicles. Each one has a number and many are decorated with English Football teams logos. The ones with letters on them have routes in Zanzibar Town. Numbers indicate farther destinations.
